About Us
Terrence Lewis founded Avalon Development in 1998 to continue his goal of raising the standard of building in Houston. Avalon Development has flourished and grown in to a completely vertically integrated design and build firm that has created some of Houston's finest homes. The success of Avalon Development is largely due to the vast experience of Mr. Lewis. He is the fifth generation in the real estate development and construction industry. At age 13 Terrence took his first construction job as a volunteer helping build roughly 100 miles of retaining walls, suspension bridges and highly improved campsites and walk ways through the thick and desolate Florida wilderness. Mr. Lewis also learned the fundamentals of creating value by being completely immersed in this business since birth often visiting jobsites with various family members on nights and weekends. He started working in his father's appraisal firm on spring break and summers at 11. It is easy to understand how natural this business is for Terrence after taking a look at one of his projects. He spends most of his time on his job sites to make sure his high standards are implemented in every detail of every project he takes on.
